In response to Chega, Government confirms budget of 144 thousand euros for PJ to destroy chemicals

SAPO Notícias3 September 2026 at 20:14

The Ministry of Justice confirmed the budget of approximately 144 thousand euros allocated to the Judicial Police for the destruction of chemicals seized under 'Operation Pacoba'. The confirmation came in response to a question raised by the Chega party.

The Judicial Police did not have its own budget to execute the order for the destruction of the seized chemical materials. This situation led to the need for a specific fund transfer for this purpose.

The Ministry of Justice thus ensured the necessary funds so that the destruction operation could be carried out, responding to the concerns raised about the safety and prolonged storage of these materials.
