BPI announced the sale of its stake in Banco de Fomento Angola (BFA), marking its exit from the Angolan market. The Portuguese institution reached an agreement with Congolian Financial for this transaction.
The operation was communicated by BPI itself, which is led by João Pedro Oliveira e Costa. With this sale, the Portuguese bank ends its presence in Angola.
BFA was until now a significant stake of BPI in the Angolan banking market. The transaction with Congolian Financial represents a strategic change in the bank's international presence in Africa.
