Jaime Moniz Secondary School entered into a deposit agreement with the Regional Directorate of Archives, Libraries and Book on July 16, 2026. The agreement provides for the delivery of 184 historical maps and wall charts to the Regional Archive.
The deposited materials belonged to the school's Museum Nucleus "O Lyceu" and represent a collection of significant historical value. The collection spans a period from the late 19th century to the 1980s.
These maps and wall charts were used for several decades in teaching various subjects, including History, Geography, French, English and German, demonstrating their pedagogical importance over time.
The transfer of these documents to the Regional Archive represents an important step in preserving this school heritage, ensuring that this testimony to the history of education in the region will be protected and made available for future generations.
