Portugal makes history in Taranto: 32 medals and a place among the best in the Mediterranean

Portugal achieved a historic feat by finishing the Mediterranean Games with a total of 32 medals. The Portuguese delegation won 16 gold medals, seven silver and nine bronze during the competition held in Taranto.

With this performance, Portugal secured sixth place in the overall medal table of the competition, establishing itself as one of the emerging forces of the Mediterranean in international sport.

The result represents the best performance ever by Portugal since its debut at the Mediterranean Games in 2018, demonstrating significant evolution of the country in this multi-sport competition.
