Mel Breia, 24 years old and a candidate from Rio de Janeiro to Miss Bumbum Brasil 2026, decided to get Botox for the first time and ended up regretting the choice. She reports that she found her own face strange right after the procedure, feeling that she had lost part of the expressions she recognized in herself.

The episode also had a significant financial impact. According to Mel, it was approximately R$2,000 for the Botox application and almost double that amount, approximately R$4,000 in total, to try to reverse the effect of the procedure.

The experience started impulsively. After having the procedure done, the candidate says she noticed the change as soon as she got home and saw herself in the mirror. The discomfort was not only with the aesthetic result but with the feeling of not recognizing herself.

The regret made Mel rethink her relationship with her own appearance. The experience led her to reflect on decisions related to aesthetic procedures and how they can affect not only one's appearance but also the perception one has of oneself.
