Inter Miami, Lionel Messi's team, announced on Thursday the signing of 24-year-old Paraguayan midfielder Matías Galarza. The player was at River Plate and had a previous stint at Vasco. He agreed to terms with the Florida club on loan until the end of the 2026 season, with an option to purchase at the end of the contract. At the American team, Galarza will share the locker room with renowned players such as Rodrigo de Paul and Luis Suárez.

Galarza had a standout performance with the Paraguayan national team at the 2026 World Cup. At the time, he was playing for Atlanta United in MLS after a short loan spell at River Plate. He has not taken the field since Paraguay's 1-0 defeat to France in the round of 16 of the World Cup on July 4.
