Ribeira de Muge, in the municipality of Almeirim, will host a free walk as part of the Discovery Ribatejo – Walking Festival, scheduled for September 19. The initiative carries the motto "Ribeira de Muge, a natural treasure" and aims to showcase one of the municipality's natural spaces, crossing landscapes characterised by cork oak woodland, pine forest, agricultural fields, orchards, and vineyards.
The activity offers two circular routes with different difficulty levels. Participants can choose between an easy route, approximately seven kilometres long, or a medium-level route of about 11 kilometres. Both routes mostly follow rural paths and dirt roads.
The longer route includes a stretch along the Ribeira de Muge and features approximately 94 metres of positive elevation gain. Participant registration is scheduled for 8:15 am, followed by warm-up at 9:00 am and the start of the walk.
