The mountains of the Vuelta continued to favor the Slovenian cyclists, with a young man of just 20 years old establishing himself as a new promise of cycling from that country. The rider, described as the successor of Tadej Pogacar, achieved an impressive victory in the stage in question.
The young Slovenian joined the day's breakaway, which also featured the participation of Portuguese riders João Almeida and Rui Oliveira. The three riders managed to create an advantage over the main peloton during the stage.
However, the Slovenian was not satisfied with the breakaway and decided to attack, managing to distance himself even further from his pursuers. With this decisive move, he gained another 40 seconds of advantage over his main competitors, including Primoz Roglic and Felix Gall.
