Lieutenant-General Rafael Martins analyzed the most recent statements by Vladimir Putin on the situation in Ukraine. According to the military officer, the Russian president's words give him a certain aura of benevolence, suggesting an image of flexibility and good will.
However, Martins warned that these statements hide a concrete intention: Putin intends to take advantage of the winter period to continue strongly attacking Ukraine. The general considered that, despite the apparently conciliatory tone, the Russian posture remains aggressive.
In his statements, Putin showed himself open to direct dialogue with Ukraine, expressing willingness for negotiations. This posture contrasts with the accusations he directed at Kyiv, in which he considered the Ukrainian authorities responsible for acts of "terrorism".
