The Vuelta on Thursday in the Almería mountains lived one of the decisive stages of the race, which ended at the summit of Calar Alto with the victory of the young Slovenian talent Jakob Omrzel, just 20 years old.
Omrzel is compared to Tadej Pogacar, another successful Slovenian rider in world cycling, and demonstrated his potential by achieving this stage victory in a very demanding day.
The red jersey, Enric Mas, unleashed and went on the attack during the stage, managing to pull almost half a minute on his rivals in the general classification, which represents a good advance in the race for leadership.
The stage in the Almería mountains was considered one of the key days of the Vuelta, with the general classification becoming tighter after Mas's attacks in the mountains.
