The Constitution of the Portuguese Republic of 1976, including its seven revisions, will have an edition in the Mirandese language. The work results from several months of work and was developed with the objective of ensuring both the passage of the text to Mirandese as well as the legal and linguistic rigor of the concepts present in the Fundamental Law.
According to the municipality of Miranda do Douro, the preface of this edition is seen as a reinforcement of the institutional significance of a work that brings the Fundamental Law closer to the Mirandese-speaking community and values linguistic diversity as collective heritage.
The public presentation is scheduled for September 17, at 3 pm, in the Noble Hall of the Town Hall of Miranda do Douro.
The event will have the presence of the mayor Helena Barril and the president of the board of ALCM (Association of the Mirandese Language and Culture), Orlando Teixeira.
