Record3 September 2026 at 16:11

Mariana Machado finished in fifth place in the half marathon at the Mediterranean Games, completing the course in 1 hour, 12 minutes and 19 seconds. The Portuguese athlete thus concluded her participation in this edition of the Games with a result that does not reflect her best form.

The Portuguese athlete arrived at this event as vice-champion of the 10,000 meters, a title she previously earned and which gave her favorite status among the Portuguese athletes participating in the Mediterranean sporting event.

The half marathon, with a course of approximately 21 kilometers, is one of the most physically demanding events at the Games, bringing together the best athletes from the Mediterranean region in competition.
