Élia Ribeiro opens Ribeira Brava to AFM

dnoticias.pt3 September 2026 at 15:04

The Madeira Football Association (AFM) found a solution to guarantee the continuity of sporting activity during the works period at Campo Adelino Rodrigues, at the former Ex-Liceu school. The unavailability of this field was causing constraints on the sporting activities of the region.

The synthetic pitch of the Ribeira Brava Sports Centre will be made available to host training and matches during the period of interventions at the usual field. This alternative comes as a response to the problems caused by the unavailability of the sports facility.

The solution was made possible through coordination between Rui Coelho, president of AFM, and the Development Societies. Mayor Élia Ribeiro opened the doors of the Ribeira Brava Sports Centre to support the football association during this transition phase.
