The president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, has begun a two-day official visit to Ukraine. He arrived by train in Kyiv this morning and held a meeting with the Minister for Communities, Territories and Internal Displacements, Vitalii Bezghin, at the ministry's headquarters.
In the same location, Illa signed three collaboration agreements with the governors of Zaporizhzhia, Ivan Fedorov; Dnipropetrovsk, Oleksandr Hanzha; and Lviv, Maksym Kozytskyy. The objective is to establish a stable framework of cooperation to translate Catalonia's support into "concrete actions" with these three regions.
The selected regions are considered "strategic" for Ukraine, which has been at war with Russia for four and a half years. Illa highlighted that Catalonia is "deeply pro-European" and that it will give all its support to the people of Ukraine.
