The project "Art hit the streets in an open-air gallery" was born during the pandemic from a conversation between a group of friends linked to different artistic areas. Bruna Costa was the driving force behind the initiative, which emerged with the objective of giving greater visibility to the work of artists who frequently develop their activity far from public spaces.
The solution found was to bring art directly to the street, instead of waiting for the public to travel to galleries or museums. The concept was to go meet people where they necessarily pass by and can see the works, instead of inviting them to visit a closed space.
Maria Abreu, an artisan from Mirandela who participated in the event, highlighted the public's response and the curiosity shown by the exclusive pieces presented. Maria Abreu works professionally in the area of accessories, creating earrings, necklaces and cufflinks, and noted that people appreciate authentic pieces that do not repeat and are not mass-produced.
