Rio de Janeiro City Hall published a carousel on social media with guidelines on caring for lice, taking advantage of the controversy between Luana Piovani and Pedro Scooby. The Municipal Health Department's post explained what lice are, how transmission occurs and prevention methods.
The discussion began when Luana Piovani, Pedro Scooby's ex-wife, posted stories accusing her ex-husband of poorly caring for their children because they had lice. The actress shared images of the lice removed from her daughter.
The Health Department's post reinforces that the infestation is common and has available treatment. "Lice don't need to become a headache for your family... This insect is very common, but the infestation has treatment," the post states.
The city hall recommends that families seek a family clinic or municipal health center for proper guidance if they identify lice or nits on their children.
