Lightning McQueen, the protagonist of the Disney and Pixar animated franchise "Cars," will participate in a special appearance at the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix next weekend. A vehicle inspired by the character's design will do a lap of honor around the traditional Italian circuit of Monza before the start of F1 media activities.

The race's Safety Car will also receive an exclusive transformation, with design inspired by the protagonist from the final scene of the first film in the franchise. The character's participation is part of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the series, which has become one of the most popular productions from Disney and Pixar studios.

The partnership between Formula 1 and Disney/Pixar for this special action aims to bring the sport of motorsport closer to children and family audiences. After a break in the calendar, F1 returns to Italy for the 13th round of the season at the historic Monza circuit, which hosts one of the most traditional races on the category's calendar.
