Uber announced the elimination of 3,300 positions worldwide, representing approximately 10% of its workforce. The company indicated that the reduction will be made through the elimination of management levels and the merging of teams.
The measure comes as the biggest wave of layoffs since the pandemic. The company states that the savings generated by these cuts will be used to finance growth in emerging areas, such as robotaxis.
Uber's statement did not specify in which countries or specific regions the cuts will be applied, referring only to a global reduction in the workforce. The company has not yet revealed the expected financial impact of this restructuring.
