Tomás Cruz is leaving Benfica and will sign a three-season contract with Bodrumspor, a club playing in the Turkish second division. The 21-year-old Luxembourgish midfielder rejected in July an opportunity to play for Dinamo Bucharest in Romania, coached by Portuguese coach Nuno Campos, now opting for the Turkish project.
Bodrumspor has in its squad some well-known faces from Portuguese football, namely Vincent Aboubakar, former Porto forward, Diogo Sousa, Portuguese goalkeeper, and Pedro Brazão, Portuguese striker.
Tomás Cruz arrived at Benfica Campus in 2024, where he failed to establish himself as an option for the first team, not convincing the red-and-white technical staff. This transfer marks a new chapter in the young player's career, who is now seeking greater competitive opportunities in Turkey.
