Portuguese television recovered viewers in August, interrupting a sequence of seven consecutive months of decline in audiences. This growth represents a reversal in the negative trend that the sector had been facing in previous months.
The SIC channel, although it recorded a drop in results, managed to maintain leadership of the Portuguese television market. The station managed to preserve its top position despite the stumble verified during the period under analysis.
The audience increase verified in August does not, however, mean that the sector's situation is completely normalized. The recorded growth is not sufficient to erase the effects of the months of decline that preceded it, suggesting that recovery is still in its initial phase.
