Primark officially opened its new store at Forum Castelo Branco, being the brand's 14th store in Portugal and the first in the district of Castelo Branco. The store's opening enabled the creation of more than 40 new jobs in the region. Located in one of the main commercial destinations in the region, the new store has over 900 square meters of commercial space and includes areas dedicated to fashion, beauty and home, also having four self-checkout stations in addition to traditional checkouts.
Nelson Ribeiro, Head of Sales at Primark Portugal and Spain, stated that Primark's arrival in Castelo Branco has a very special significance, allowing the brand to be closer to communities in the country's interior and contribute to the creation of new employment opportunities in the Beira Baixa region.
This opening is part of Primark's 45 million euro investment in Portugal, which includes four new stores and the expansion of the store at Forum Coimbra. The brand will open a new store in Setúbal on September 10th, followed by stores in Vila Nova de Gaia and Porto. When these investments are completed, Primark will have 18 stores in Portugal and will have created more than 300 new jobs across the country.
On September 1st, the date of the Castelo Branco store opening, Primark also reached the milestone of 500 stores worldwide, with the opening of a new store in Naples, Italy. Founded in Ireland in 1969, the brand is today present in 19 countries across Europe, the United States and the Middle East, employing more than 80,000 employees.
