The Adémia Festival runs from September 4 to 7 in Coimbra, a cultural and religious celebration in honor of Our Lady of Light. The event takes place at Campo Ramos de Carvalho, belonging to the Adémia Sports and Cultural Association, and includes themed areas such as Street of Traditional Flavors with varied gastronomy, Avenue of Sweets from Margarida Farturas, and the Bars Square.
The big highlight of this edition is the performance of the group Remember, one of the most popular bands of 80s and 90s music, who takes the stage on Saturday, September 5, at 10:30 PM. This show ends with DJ Nuka, followed by a night of music and fellowship for the Adémia community.
The organization this year emphasizes the presence of traditional music, highlighting the bagpipers Covão D'Almeida, who open the festivities with street parades starting Friday. On Sunday, the Philharmonic of the Associação Filarmónica Adriano Soares participates in mass and solemn procession, with the Cantanhede Volunteer Firefighters Fanfare leading the procession in honor of the firefighters.
The festival also includes sports activities such as the Total Football program, a sardine barbecue on Monday, and a raffle with prizes including a Peugeot 307 HDI car, a weekend at Quinta d'Anta, and a hairdresser service. Admission is free for all days of the event.
