Pataias will receive on the 20th the first edition of the Trunk Market, which will transform the Rossio, more specifically Praça Comendador Joaquim Matias, into a space for reuse, second-hand trade and community gathering. The event will take place between 10 am and 6 pm and will feature clothes, books, toys, records, decorative items and many other objects looking for a second life.
The initiative is promoted by the Property Owners, Residents and Friends Association (AMA) Vale Furado. The president of the association, João Coelho, explains that the square was chosen because it brings together all the logistical conditions, space and centrality essential for the success of the event. The formula is simple: open the trunk, display what is no longer needed and give it the possibility of finding a new owner.
For the association, the objective goes beyond buying and selling. João Coelho emphasizes that the event reflects AMA's environmental awareness mission, combating waste by giving new life to forgotten objects. The organization expects a strong turnout and intends for the initiative to become regular if the response confirms the expectations. Alongside the shopping, there will be food, drinks and the association's well-known "Furadinhas".
Before the market, AMA Vale Furado is already promoting this weekend, on the 5th and 6th, the first edition of the Sardine Festival at Praia de Vale Furado, with gastronomy, music and entertainment.
