The strategy of Telecinco for the premiere of 'Rueda la letra' and surviving 'Pasapalabra'

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General3 September 2026 at 07:16

Rueda la letra is Telecinco's big bet for the start of the new season. The Mediaset group's channel has placed all its hopes on the new daily game show, which features the iconic rosco, to begin recovering from the severe audience problems it faces.

Telecinco has been experiencing an audience crisis for more than four years. This situation originated precisely at the moment when the channel had to let go of the game show Pasapalabra, which is now broadcast by Antena 3.

With the launch of Rueda la letra, Mediaset hopes to reverse this negative trend and begin to recover ground in the fight for television audiences.

Smart factories see people as the biggest challenge

Smart factories represent one of the most debated topics in today's industry, but their implementation goes far beyond technology. In an episode of the Work Around podcast, Carlos Mugeiro, plant manager at Purem, and Tiago Pacheco, from Gi Group Onsite, explained that the real challenge lies in people. The recipe involves real-time connectivity between machines, systems, and people, with impact on quality, maintenance, and productivity. However, both warned that the biggest mistake is believing that this transition is purely technological. Digital literacy, interaction with machines, and understanding dashboards are increasingly essential skills, but the shortage of technical profiles and the need to train supervisors and leaders represent significant obstacles. Purem responded by restructuring its training center and valuing the knowledge of its more experienced workers, giving them tools to overcome their fear of new technologies.
