Kiko García, technical director of the Vuelta a España and native of Burriana, gave an interview in which he rated the two stages held in Castellón with a maximum score. The former rider, born on June 25, 1968, was a central figure in designing the route of the race, working together with Fernando Escartín to draw up the 21 stages and all the logistics of the competition.

The stage in question pitted Tadej Pogacar and Enric Mas on the ramps of Bartolo, in a day that was marked by the massive presence of fans who transformed the mountain into a party. The confrontation between the two riders was considered one of the most spectacular stages remembered in Castellón.

Kiko García was a key figure in making the bet on double passage, the strade bianche, and the final ramps of Bartolo a reality in the race design. His technical contribution allowed this stage to become a reality, raising the competitive and spectacular level of the competition in the region.
