Jornal 3602 September 2026 at 21:25

The 45th edition of AGRIVAL ended with a positive balance by the organization, after ten days bringing together in Penafiel producers, entrepreneurs, traders, artisans, associations and visitors. This edition was marked by the requalification of the Pavilion and the expansion of the Bar Square, changes that, according to the organization, received a positive reception from exhibitors and visitors.

João Paulo Oliveira, president of the Board of Directors of Penafiel Ativa, the entity responsible for the organization, considered the final result positive, despite the difficulties caused by four days conditioned by weather conditions. The responsible highlighted the organization's responsiveness and the proximity to exhibitors as determining factors in overcoming the difficulties.

Security was another area reinforced in this edition, with the implementation of a video surveillance system in the venue. Pedro Cepeda, president of Penafiel Municipal Council, stressed that AGRIVAL continues to be a "brand of Penafiel" and a space for promoting agriculture, the economy, products and local traditions, noting that the expressed satisfaction demonstrates that the fair is on the path to modernization.

Over the ten days, AGRIVAL presented a diversified offer in the areas of agriculture, animal production, machinery, agro-industry, commerce, services, gastronomy, handicrafts and new technologies. Local products were highlighted through competitions, while the initiatives of the confraternity movement contributed to the enhancement of gastronomy and the cultural heritage of the region.

Widowhood harms women more and benefits men more

Widowhood affects women more than men in terms of assets. When the husband dies in a heterosexual marriage, the wife suffers greater financial losses than the reverse. Widowhood increases wealth, but disproportionately benefits men, who manage to maintain or increase their real and financial assets, while women in this situation register smaller gains or losses.

Trump's protectionism failed to create new industrial jobs

The analysis indicates that Donald Trump's protectionist policy, despite having significantly raised the United States' import tariffs, failed to achieve its main objective: the creation of new industrial jobs, especially in the Midwest region that was severely affected by globalization. The goal of "Making America Great Again" through the revival of American industry has so far proven to be a failure, highlighting the limitations of Trump's trade strategy in revitalizing the country's manufacturing sector.
