The Cultural and Sports Association of Carapalha (ACDC), based in Castelo Branco, in central Portugal, will celebrate on September 5th its 28th anniversary with a program that runs throughout the entire day and includes activities aimed at children, youth, adults and members. The celebration aims to promote community gathering and participation in the association's facilities, combining the institutional dimension of the anniversary with programming open to families.
The program begins at 10:00 AM with CarapalhaPlay, a sensory group activity called "Feet on the Ground", intended for babies and children between nine months and five years old. During the afternoon, at 4:00 PM, the "3rd Outdoor Table Tennis Tournament" takes place, with free registration on the day itself and open to youth, amateur and masters categories. At 6:30 PM, there will be a community snack with the traditional blowing of candles, with the association offering spit-roasted pig to members with up-to-date dues.
The association is led by José Perquilhas and maintains cooperative relations with "Mais Lusofonia", an association chaired by Sofia Lourenço, which develops social, cultural and charitable initiatives. In the months of April and July, the two entities jointly organized a daytime solidarity walk and a nighttime solidarity walk, both departing from the ACDC headquarters, combining physical activity, community gathering and support for social causes.
