The Palácio Gustavo Capanema, an emblematic building of modern architecture in Brazil that was reopened in May 2025 after six years closed for renovations, will host Próxima Parada Samba during Rio Art Week, which takes place from September 16 to 27. The celebration of the city will continue at the venue until February 2027.
Luana Carvalho, singer, curator, and creator of the project, unveiled the September programming, which will feature two weekends of activities. The opening begins with the exhibition "Cidade Batucada," followed by Parada Cine Ginga, which will screen the film "Andança: encounters and memories of Beth Carvalho," and the Parada Show with Martn'ália on the 18th.
On the following Saturday, September 26, the Parada Show will feature Jorge Aragão as the main act. On both Sundays of the event, there will be Parada de Bamba, with invited samba circles such as Terreiro de Criolo and Terreiro de Mangueira, concluding the September programming.
The Terreiro de Criolo samba circle was elected the best this year, reinforcing the importance of the group in Rio's samba scene.
