The National Secretariat of Cultural Goods of the Church will promote, between September and October, an online training dedicated to the preventive conservation of churches and religious heritage. The course, titled "Preventive Conservation: good practices in ecclesiastical buildings", aims to alert to procedures that contribute to the degradation of goods and present practical solutions for their preservation.
The training will address the care of immovable, movable and integrated heritage entrusted to Christian communities. It is aimed at parish priests, sacristans, sextons, churchwardens, members of economic and pastoral councils and confraternities.
The four sessions will take place on September 15, 22 and 29 and October 6, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and are led by Eva Raquel Neves, conservator at the Diocesan Museum of Santarém and coordinator of the Working Group for the Conservation and Restoration area of the National Secretariat for Cultural Goods of the Church.
