Electricidade de Moçambique celebrated 49 years of existence, reiterating its commitment to the modernization and improvement of energy services in the country. During the celebrations, the company highlighted the advances achieved over the past decades in expanding access to electricity.
The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy, António Manda, argued that achieving universal access to energy by 2030 requires multiple measures. Among these, the key ones are increasing generation capacity, expanding and modernizing electrical grids, and diversifying the country's energy matrix.
Manda also highlighted the need to mobilize significant investments for the sector and to ensure permanent coordination between companies operating in the energy area in Mozambique. These conditions are considered essential to achieve the targets set by the government.
The celebration of Electricidade de Moçambique's 49 years thus served as a moment of reflection on existing challenges and reaffirmation of commitments for the future of the national energy sector.
