The Public Prosecutor's investigation into the derailment of the Glória funicular in Lisbon, which caused 16 deaths a year ago, still awaits the results of tests and expert examinations to be concluded.

The accident occurred when the funicular, which connects Bairro Alto to Graça, derailed and fell along the track, causing one of the biggest urban tragedies in Portugal.

The authorities are conducting technical examinations and analyses to determine the causes of the accident and any criminal liability.

The Public Prosecutor's Office continues to work on the case, without yet having presented final conclusions on what caused the accident.
