Ryanair forecasts flight reduction in winter to limit fuel costs

Now2 September 2026 at 13:30

The European airline Ryanair announced plans to reduce flight operations during the winter season as a measure to limit fuel costs. This decision is part of the company's strategy to face the increase in fuel prices in the aviation sector.

As a consequence of this operational reduction, Ryanair revised downward its passenger traffic target for the fiscal year ending in April 2027. The initial target expected to accommodate 216 million passengers, but that number was adjusted to 214 million passengers, representing a reduction of 2 million in the company's growth expectation.
