The Chega party defends a deportation policy for foreign citizens in an illegal situation in Portugal or convicted for the practice of serious crimes. The proposal was presented by deputy Francisco Gomes, member of the party in the Assembly of the Republic.
Francisco Gomes argues that Portugal should adopt more rigorous measures regarding immigration, specifically the deportation of foreigners who do not have legal authorization to remain in the country.
The party positions itself in a restrictive manner on migratory policy matters, proposing that deportation be applied not only to people in an irregular situation, but also to foreign citizens convicted of serious crimes.
