Flamengo accused Dynamo Moscow of amateurish behavior in the negotiation for the signing of winger Gonzalo Plata, a former Sporting player. The transfer ended up falling through, leaving the Brazilian club indignant with how the process was conducted.

Sporting's Benedita branch reopens after renovation works

The Sporting Clube de Portugal branch in Benedita reopened to the public on August 8, after seven weeks of renovation works at its headquarters in the former primary school on Rua da Serradinha. Windows still need to be replaced, air conditioning installed and bathrooms renovated, for a total investment that could reach 10,000 euros. The reopening was well received by members and the branch already has an events calendar prepared for September and October, including a sardine barbecue, grilled meat and the third edition of the Oktoberfest.
