The 83rd Venice Film Festival begins this Wednesday (2), bringing together big stars such as Javier Bardem, Penélope Cruz, Robert Pattinson, and Dakota Johnson, as well as the band Oasis. The festival takes place in an edition where geopolitics will once again be a topic of discussion.
A total of 21 films will compete for the Golden Lion, the award that last year was given to Jim Jarmusch for the film "Father, Mother, Sister, Brother." The jury of this edition will be presided over by actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, and the winners will be announced on September 12.
Although major Hollywood studios have decided not to participate in the festival, reducing the number of stars on the Lido, glamour will be guaranteed on the red carpet. The festival's opening will feature a standout film from the Cannes Film Festival, nominated for the 2027 Oscar.
