Felgueiras hosts gathering of sports supercars and classics

Felgueiras will host, on September 20th, a gathering of sports supercars and classics to mark World Tourism Day. The initiative is dedicated to motorsport enthusiasts and will take place in the Garden of Praça da República, with the start scheduled for 9 AM.

The event promises to transform the city center into an authentic open-air museum, with dozens of historic vehicles, classic cars and sports supercars that have marked generations.

The program includes the exhibition of vehicles and a guided tour of the emblematic places of the municipality, with the aim of showcasing the tourist, cultural and gastronomic potential of Felgueiras.

Participation in the official activities requires mandatory registration on the official page classicosportugal.pt.

Sporting's Benedita branch reopens after renovation works

The Sporting Clube de Portugal branch in Benedita reopened to the public on August 8, after seven weeks of renovation works at its headquarters in the former primary school on Rua da Serradinha. The interventions included demolition of the bar walls, removal of false ceilings, new electrical installation, new counter and appliances, as well as fencing and a gate on the porch to combat acts of vandalism. The investment in the first phase was around 5,500 euros, mostly funded by donations from members, partners and sponsors, with all labor being voluntary. Windows still need to be replaced, air conditioning installed and bathrooms renovated, for a total investment that could reach 10,000 euros. The reopening was well received by members and the branch already has an events calendar prepared for September and October, including a sardine barbecue, grilled meat and the third edition of the Oktoberfest.
