A 19-year-old waitress named Nathalie Rodriguez Gonzalez was arrested in Miami, Florida, last Friday (8/28), after a blackmail attempt against an American businessman. She was accused of threats and extortion after demanding $20,000 (over R$100,000) from a man with whom she was having an extramarital affair.

The young woman met the victim while working at a restaurant, an establishment of which the businessman was a regular customer. The romance between the two lasted for a period, but everything changed when Nathalie discovered that her boyfriend, in fact, was in a serious relationship with another woman.

Instead of ending the case, Nathalie decided to charge a "price" for the discovery. She began sending threatening messages to the businessman, demanding payment of $20,000. The waitress warned that if the amount was not transferred, the sum would rise to $25,000 (about R$130,000) and intimate photos would be sent to the "official girlfriend" and the man's business partner.

The businessman refused the threat and decided not to pay. Police were called, and Nathalie was arrested. The article does not reveal whether she actually sent the photos or what the complete outcome of the case was.
