Quinta da Maia now has a new Social Center 50+, a space dedicated to people aged 50 or over. The initiative aims to promote active aging and combat social isolation in this age group.
The project is promoted by Mondego - Association of Social Intervention, an entity that already has a proven track record of success in the childcare social service. This previous experience in the area of childhood served as the foundation for the development of this new service aimed at older people.
The association now intends to expand its social intervention beyond childhood, focusing also on the needs of seniors. The main objective of the Social Center 50+ is to rescue people from loneliness, offering a space for socializing and social interaction.
This expansion by Mondego reflects a response to the growing needs for social support for older people, providing activities that contribute to a more active aging process and a higher quality of life.
