The Sunset Stage of Rock in Rio celebrates 15 years in 2026, maintaining itself as a reference in unusual musical encounters and creative projects. The stage, known for its surprising collaborations, brings in this edition shows such as Roupa Nova invites Guilherme Arantes, João Gomes & Brazilian Orchestra, Marina Sena invites Céu, Capital Inicial and Dado Villa-Lobos, and Vanessa da Mata.
Zé Ricardo, 56 years old, is responsible for the conception and curation of the Sunset. Currently vice-president of Rock World, the company promoting the festival, he states that his work is to provoke, go beyond and invent things. "It was more at Sunset, now it's at all stages," he declared.
One of Zé Ricardo's recent achievements was bringing Péricles, pagode star, to reinterpret hits by Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, artists from the Motown record label. For him, this represents Rock in Rio showing its capacity to provoke and innovate.
Zé Ricardo revealed that the only thing he cannot do is direct more shows the way he is directing the current one, but he still follows the setup of all the performances.
