Flamengo announced it will seek compensation against Dynamo Moscow after the Russian club gave up on signing Ecuadorian striker Gonzalo Plata. The negotiation was abruptly ended, generating dissatisfaction on the part of the Brazilian club.
In an official statement, Flamengo accused Dynamo Moscow of "amateurism and irresponsibility". The Russian club claimed that Gonzalo Plata was not within the "medical parameters" as justification for rescinding the agreement.
The red-and-black stated that it will spare no effort to seek appropriate compensation for what it classified as disregard and devaluation imposed on the club and the Ecuadorian player.
Flamengo also stated that the episode involving Dynamo Moscow and Botafogo on that Tuesday is a direct result of the Russian club's behavior, and requested that the case serve as a warning for all of Brazilian football.
