Portugal achieved a total of 29 medals at the 2026 Taranto Mediterranean Games, of which 13 are gold. This edition of the games has been particularly successful for the Portuguese delegation.
José Carlos Pinto and Omar Elkhatib were the athletes who secured gold medals for Portugal, contributing to the increase in the number of maximum titles won by the Portuguese team in this competition.
On that day, rower Inês Oliveira opened the medal tally by winning the first silver of the day for Portugal. The athlete finished in third place in the lightweight single scull event, thus securing a bronze medal.
The Mediterranean Games are taking place in Taranto, Italy, bringing together athletes from various countries bordering the Mediterranean in multiple sports disciplines.
