Everton paid 3.5 million euros to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Lyon, in a deal confirmed late Tuesday night. The English club thus completed another operation in the transfer market to reinforce their squad.

The 31-year-old player, who has previously represented clubs like Arsenal and Southampton in the Premier League, thus leaves Lyon, where he had been since January 2024. His departure represents a reinforcement for Everton, which is looking to strengthen their squad.

Lyon is managed by Portuguese coach Paulo Fonseca. This deal comes within the framework of the French club's transfer policy during this transfer window.

Everton, an English Premier League club, continues to reinforce themselves for the season, now counting on Maitland-Niles' experience in their midfield.
