Over the years, the human body undergoes changes that go far beyond the more well-known ones, such as wrinkles or gray hair. Two doctors explain to SÁBADO some of these lesser-known effects of aging. The voice can become higher in men and lower in women, a change that results from alterations in the muscles and vocal cords. Feet also tend to increase in size with age, due to loss of elasticity in the ligaments and reduction of fat in the soles. Taste also weakens, which may explain the tendency of some older people to add more salt to their food.
