Flamengo and Botafogo 'unite' in disagreement over rejection of forwards' medical exams at Dynamo Moscow

Flamengo and Botafogo united in a common position of dissatisfaction after Dynamo Moscow's refusal to sign forwards Gonzalo Plata and Matheus Martins, respectively. Both clubs expressed outrage at the Russian team's decision to reject the players in medical exams, considering the decision surprising and unjustified.

The players arrived together in Russia over the weekend and even had reception images at the airport published by Dynamo itself. However, when they underwent medical exams on Tuesday, the Russian club claimed that the athletes did not meet the required "medical parameters."

Flamengo maintains that Gonzalo Plata has no history of significant injuries. The player recently only suffered from some knee issues, diagnosed as tendinitis, and had been playing normally for the team coached by Leonardo Jardim. Therefore, the rejection came as a bombshell for the red-and-black club.

Botafogo also falls under the same context, as Matheus Martins had been regularly used by the team. The black-and-white club showed irritation with the situation and is already studying taking Dynamo Moscow to court, according to GLOBO's investigation.

Salary and physical condition: Botafogo makes considerations, but advances for Cebolinha after 'ok' from Bap, from Flamengo; know details

Botafogo advanced in the negotiation for Everton Cebolinha, offering two years of contract to the Flamengo winger, after the red-black president Luiz Eduardo Baptista (Bap) released the player for free on Monday. However, the black-and-white club makes considerations about the high salary and the signing bonus demanded by the 30-year-old athlete, in addition to concerns about his physical condition, since Cebolinha underwent surgery in 2024 and hasn't shown expressive numbers recently. Even so, Botafogo's board evaluates that the reinforcement would be important to raise the team's level, and an agreement is being stitched together, with a decision expected this week.
