Ecuadorian forward Gonzalo Plata failed the medical exams conducted at Dynamo Moscow, and the transfer from Flamengo to the Russian club will not be completed. The player had traveled to the European country over the weekend and was even greeted at the airport, showing that the negotiation was advanced.
Flamengo informed through a statement on Tuesday afternoon that Dynamo Moscow communicated that Gonzalo Plata "did not meet the medical parameters of the Russian team." The Brazilian club had released the player to undergo the exams and sign the contract with the European team.
The previous week, Flamengo had accepted the sale of Gonzalo Plata to Dynamo Moscow for 12 million euros, approximately R$60 million, with ten million euros fixed plus two million euros in bonuses for reaching targets.
With the failed medical exams, Gonzalo Plata will return to Rio de Janeiro and rejoin Flamengo's squad. The red-and-black club has not yet informed what the next steps for the player will be.
