Jonathan David loaned by Juventus to Atlético Madrid

Record1 September 2026 at 20:48

The Canadian striker Jonathan David was loaned by Juventus to Atlético Madrid until the end of the 2024-2025 season. The 25-year-old player arrives at the Spanish club to strengthen the colchoneros' attack during the second half of the season.

The loan includes a purchase option that Atlético Madrid may exercise until June 2027 for 25 million euros. If the option is activated, David will sign a long-term contract with the Spanish club.

Jonathan David had been at Juventus since 2020, having arrived from Lille for around 30 million euros. However, the striker failed to establish himself as an absolute starter in the Italian team, which motivated the loan transfer.

With David's arrival, Atlético Madrid gains another attacking option for the final stretch of the season. The Canadian is known for his speed and finishing ability, characteristics that should add to the offensive system of the team coached by Diego Simeone.
