Full-back El Karouani strengthens Benfica on loan from Saudi side Al-Qadisiyah

Moroccan left-back Souffian El Karouani is Benfica's new signing, having arrived on loan from the Saudi club Al-Qadisiyah. The agreement between the two clubs also includes an option to purchase for the Eagles.

The 24-year-old player will wear the Sacred Mantle until the end of the 2026/27 season. El Karouani is a Morocco international and plays a position that Benfica were looking to strengthen in their squad.

Before heading to Saudi Arabia, the left-back had spent the last three seasons in the Netherlands, where he accumulated relevant experience in European football.

Benfica officially announced the signing through a statement, confirming the terms of the loan and the inclusion of the purchase option in the agreement with Al-Qadisiyah.
