Deivid Washington exchanges Chelsea for Strasbourg

Dia de Jogo — jornal desportivo1 September 2026 at 19:54

The 21-year-old Brazilian striker Deivid Washington left Chelsea to sign for Strasbourg in a permanent transfer. The young player, who arrived at Chelsea in 2023 from Bragantino, failed to establish himself at the English club during his time there.

The deal between the two clubs was closed for approximately 8 million euros. This transfer represents a significant investment by Strasbourg, a club owned by the same group that owns Chelsea.

Deivid Washington signed a contract with Strasbourg until 2031, demonstrating the French club's confidence in the Brazilian player's potential for the future. The striker will now look to gain more playing time in the French Ligue 1.

This sale allows Chelsea to free up salary cap space and reinvest in other transfer operations. Washington thus becomes the second player to leave Chelsea this transfer window, following other movements by the English club in the market.
