Flamengo approves sponsorship for youth stadium construction at Ninho

oglobo1 September 2026 at 19:45

Flamengo's Board of Administration approved the raising of approximately R$ 5.5 million in sponsorship from Ambev through incentivized funds to complement the construction of the mini-stadium at Ninho do Urubu, the club's sports complex located in Rio de Janeiro. The funds will be destined for the construction of locker rooms and hospitality areas of the arena.

The completion of the work is expected between 2027 and 2028. The mini-stadium will be used for matches of the club's youth categories. The field is already ready, and the structure will be located at the entrance of Ninho do Urubu, on the right side when passing through the gate on Estrada dos Bandeirantes. Further ahead is the professional football module inaugurated in 2018, and at the back of the land is the space destined for the youth categories.

Flamengo will still need to find its own estimated resources of at least R$ 13 million to complete the construction of the stands and lighting of the mini-stadium. With the completion of the arena, the club intends to move the youth matches that currently take place at Gávea and start a new project at headquarters: the construction of a hotel.

The club bet on continuity for a season of maximum demand. Pape Gueye was for most of the summer the name most associated with a possible important departure, but as the weeks passed, his continuity was practically assured.

Julián Álvarez, bohemian and dreamer

This article uses Argentine footballer Julián Álvarez, who left Manchester City for Atlético de Madrid, as a metaphor for the common worker who dreams of escaping routine and daily monotony. The text reflects on how we all wish we had a "transfer" that would take us away from work stress to enjoy moments of leisure, comparing the desire for freedom with the attractiveness of Barça's play under Hansi Flick.
