Enzo at City for 146 million sets record in England

Correio da Manhã1 September 2026 at 17:41

Enzo Fernández is on his way to Manchester City for 146 million pounds, setting a new transfer record in English football. The Argentine midfielder, who previously played for Benfica, leaves Chelsea in this multi-million deal. The London blue club had signed Enzo Fernández from the red and whites in January 2023 for a significant fee, but the player will not have stayed long at the London team. The transfer to the Citizens represents a historic investment for the Manchester club, which thus reinforces its midfield with one of the most highly-rated players in South American football. The deal significantly surpasses the values seen in previous transfers in the English league.
